Una componente fondamentale di questo impegno \u00e8 rappresentata dai continui investimenti in infrastrutture, come il bacino naturale di Nair Pitschen, attualmente in fase di costruzione da parte di Engadin St. Moritz Mountains. Questo piccolo lago, con una superficie di 51.000 m\u00b2 e un volume di stoccaggio di 300.000 m\u00b3, ridurr\u00e0 il fabbisogno annuale di energia elettrica delle funicolari e delle attivit\u00e0 di ristorazione di 1 GWh, che corrisponde a quasi il 10 % del fabbisogno totale di energia elettrica.<\/p>\n<p>Inoltre, i sistemi di propulsione alternativi e i carburanti avanzati, vengono costantemente testati e integrati nelle operazioni. Adrian Jordan, responsabile di Snow Sports &amp; Mountain Experiences, spiega: \"Quest'anno abbiamo utilizzato i carburanti GTL e LEAF R100 (HVO) a scopo di test durante la costruzione del bacino. I prodotti sono caratterizzati da una bassissima ecotossicit\u00e0, ma si differenziano per le loro propriet\u00e0 e sono quindi adatti a diversi ambiti di applicazione. Se si desidera ridurre al minimo le emissioni di CO\u2082, LEAF R100 \u00e8 un'ottima scelta.  Tuttavia, quando considerazioni come l'economicit\u00e0 e la resistenza al freddo sono fondamentali, il GTL \u00e8 la soluzione ottimale. Per una combinazione di entrambi i criteri, LEAF Alpine R50 \u00e8 una buona scelta.
